Reduced antioxiadant high-density lipoprotein function in patients with acute coronary syndrome

چکیده
Abstract Background High-density lipoprotein (HDL) function rather than concentration plays an important role in the pathogenesis of cardiovascular diseases associated with oxidative stress and inflammation such as coronary artery disease (CAD). In last years, has been identified to have a pivotal acute syndrome (ACS). Purpose The aim present study is determine whether reduced antioxidant HDL ACS. Methods 197 patients ACS were prospectively recruited blood samples taken first 48h after enrollment. Patients chronic CCS (n=727) invasively excluded CAD (no CAD, n=498) from another cohort our group served control patients. A validated cell-free biochemical assay was used assessed by increased HDL-lipid peroxide content (HDLox) normalized HDL-C levels mean value pooled serum healthy participants (nHDLox; no units). Results had significantly HDLox compared without (p<0.001, Figure 1A). Prior intake statins did not influenc differences among groups (Figure 1B). regression analysis strong risk factor for presence (odds ratio 4.09 (2.98–5.62), p<0.001, 2). Conclusions peroxidation independent other traditional factors. Funding Acknowledgement Type funding sources: Foundation. Main source(s): BIOX

Low high density lipoprotein cholesterol levels and acute coronary syndrome in young patients admitted at a tertiary care facility
Background: Coronary artery disease (CAD) is a cardiovascular disease which is related to mortality and morbidity among the Indians predominantly in the older age group. But, recently CAD has been found more often in young population. Hence, our study aims to observe the outcomes based on various categories of high density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol levels estimated during admission at the h...
متن کاملThe Value and Distribution of High-Density Lipoprotein Subclass in Patients with Acute Coronary Syndrome
BACKGROUND High-density lipoprotein (HDL) enhances cholesterol efflux from the arterial wall and exhibits potent anti-inflammatory and anti-atherosclerosis (AS) properties. Whether raised HDL levels will clinically benefit patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) and the value at which these effects will be apparent, however, is debatable. This study examined the HDL subclass distribution pr...
متن کاملMonocyte to High-Density Lipoprotein Ratio Predicts Contrast-Induced Nephropathy in Patients With Acute Coronary Syndrome.
Contrast-induced nephropathy (CIN) is associated with worse prognosis in patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS). Early identification and intervention for patients with a high risk of CIN are very important to improve clinical outcomes. Inflammation plays important role in the development of CIN in the setting of ACS. The monocyte to high-density lipoprotein ratio (MHR) is a novel inflamma...
متن کاملHigh-density lipoprotein subfractions in normolipidemic patients with coronary atherosclerosis.
High-density lipoprotein (HDL) levels were studied in 10 male patients with severe coronary atherosclerosis and in 10 well-matched controls. All subjects were normolipidemic, and the presence of a disease or other factor influencing HDL levels were excluded. Very low density lipoprotein and low-density lipoprotein levels were similar in both groups, but HDL concentration was significantly lower...
متن کاملDynamic changes in purine catabolism in patients with acute coronary syndrome that underwent percutaneous coronary intervention
Background: Cardiovascular diseases are global problems. They are causes of death in about 43% of people worldwide and may become the most widespread reason of death by 2020. The prognosis is directly dependent to immediate diagnosis and on time treatment. Introduction of new biochemical markers as the early diagnosis of complications after coronary revascularization is very important in this p...
